Sample Special Moves

When you are unstable and you follow the voices and visions in your head to the detriment of yourself or your fellow player characters, mark XP.

(This move is part of the Indoctrination countdown, but can also be granted for other reasons, such as a particularly traumatic experience with a Prothean beacon or whatnot.

Phantom Training
When you go into battle you may channel your biotics through your custom sword. Roll +Hard. On a 10+, gain 3 hold. On a 7-9, gain 2 hold. At any time during the battle you may spend your hold, 1 for 1, to apply one or more of the following tags to your melee attack:

  • ap
  • disruptor
  • anti-barrier

(This move would most likely require someone to purchase an “any move” advance to get, as it reflects specialized Cerberous training and equipment)

Dark Channel
When you use Dark Channel against a gang in battle, roll +Hard. On a hit, the gang loses one level of its size due to attrition at 3:00 and 9:00 on the battle countdown. On a 10+ they are also impressed, dismayed, or frightened as if you had seized by force and chosen that option.

(This move was demonstrated by Javik, and could theoretically be learned by a biotic character by using an “any move” advance).
